Reimbursement
Travel reimbursement calculator
Erasmus+ reimburses your travel as a fixed amount based on the distance between your home city and the venue. Check yours before you book.
How reimbursement works
Check your budget before booking
Use the calculator above. The amount is a fixed lump sum for the round trip — if you book smart, it usually covers everything.
Travel green if you can
Train, bus, or carpool for the main part of your journey means a higher reimbursement and up to 4 extra funded travel days.
Keep every document
Original PDF e-tickets and invoices with your name, route, date, and price. Boarding passes for every flight. Screenshots and photos are not accepted.
Submit after the project
Upload documents and your bank details (IBAN) within 30 days after the activity. We pay out once the documents are checked — typically within a few weeks.
The fine print, honestly
- Only the cheapest reasonable fare is reimbursed — economy class, standard seats.
- Local transport at home or at the venue, taxis, seat reservations, and extra luggage are not covered.
- Full attendance of the programme is required for reimbursement.
- The EU participant survey must be completed before we can pay out.
- If your real costs are much higher than the lump sum (remote regions), talk to us before booking — exceptional cost rules may apply.
